Katharina Bamberg is a Policy Analyst in the European Migration and Diversity Programme.

Katharina graduated with a Master in Global Migration (MSc) from the University College London, where she specialised in European migration policies, human rights and gendered aspects of forced migration. She also holds a Bachelor in European Studies (BA) from Maastricht University, with a focus on migration and foreign policies.

At the EPC, Katharina has a research focus on regular pathways for refugees, in particular through resettlement. She has also worked on the external dimension of the EU’s migration policies and analysed how migration and foreign policy interact at the EU’s external borders and in cooperation with third countries.

Before joining the EPC in May 2017, Katharina worked for the Odysseus Academic Network for Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy, based at the Université Libre Bruxelles, on issues related to the legal aspects of the reform of the Common European Asylum System.

Katharina is also co-founder of Lagrange Points asbl, an association that aims to make Arabic literature and culture more accessible to the Brussels population.
