Zehra has a PhD from KU Leuven in Educational Sciences. In her doctoral dissertation. she studied inter-ethnic relations, social inclusion and diversity experiences of ethnic minority and majority students in a higher education context in Flanders. She is currently contributing to various research projects focusing on issues of diversity in higher education, multicultural education, and experiences of refugee women in Belgium. She presented her research during academic conferences and panels across Europe.
In addition to her research experience, Zehra also worked in NGOs in Turkey and Belgium. During her work experience, she managed relations with international partners, engaged in networking and community outreach activities and gave presentations in New York, Geneva, Athens, and Brussels.
